The course

Clear concepts. Practical use.

This course will help peer educators and community facilitators plan small learning sessions, welcome different starting points, use practical activities, and gather feedback responsibly. It will be designed for low-resource settings as well as digital spaces.

Local educators make learning more accessible, more relevant, and more sustainable. They are central to any effort that hopes to build lasting capacity rather than temporary dependence.

The learning route

Build understanding, then use it.

Each module moves from a core concept to an activity that can be tried in everyday life, a classroom, or a community learning group.

    Begin with the learner

    Identify what people already know, what they need, and what barriers might make a learning session harder to join.

    Try itDraft three questions you could ask a small group before planning a lesson. Keep them open and respectful.

    Plan one clear outcome

    Choose a realistic learning outcome and design a short activity that lets people practice rather than only listen.

    Try itWrite one learning outcome beginning with “By the end, learners can…” and one activity that demonstrates it.

    Make space for questions

    Practice inclusive facilitation, clear boundaries, and ways to welcome uncertainty without allowing misinformation or unsafe advice to spread.

    Try itWrite a simple group agreement for discussion: one expectation for respect, one for questions, and one for checking claims.

    Learn from the session

    Use feedback and observation to improve the next session, not to judge learners or turn participation into a test of worth.

    Try itDraft two feedback questions: one about what helped people learn and one about what should change next time.
